Our Partners: A Community of Purpose
At Kala, we believe in the power of collaboration to create a greater impact. Our partners are more than just business associates; they are an integral part of our mission to celebrate and sustain traditional Indian craftsmanship. We are proud to work with organizations and platforms that share our commitment to ethical practices, cultural preservation, and social good.
Artisan Partners: The Hands That Create
- Sasha Association for Craft Producers (Sasha): We are proud to partner with Sasha, a non-profit craft development and marketing organization based in Kolkata. Sasha works with hundreds of marginalized artisan groups across India, providing design, marketing, and administrative support. This partnership allows us to source incredible hand-embroidered textiles and accessories while ensuring fair trade principles are upheld.
- Khamir: In the vibrant region of Kutch, Gujarat, we collaborate with Khamir, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the district’s rich artisanal traditions. Through this partnership, we source exquisite hand-woven textiles and block-printed goods, directly supporting the livelihoods of the artisans in one of India’s most celebrated craft hubs.
- Asha Handicrafts: As a Guaranteed Fair Trade-certified organization, Asha Handicrafts has been a beacon of hope for Indian artisans since 1975. Our partnership with them allows us to offer a diverse range of handcrafted home decor and gifts, from wood carvings to ceramics, all created with a commitment to fair wages and social welfare.
Strategic & Community Partners: Our Shared Mission
- All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association (AIACA): We are a proud member of AIACA, a non-profit organization that works to ensure the growth of the handloom and handicrafts sector. Their Craftmark initiative, which certifies genuine Indian handmade products, helps us provide an extra layer of authenticity and trust to our customers.
- We are committed to giving back to the communities that inspire our work. We donate a portion of our proceeds to a non-profit that focuses on [e.g., providing clean drinking water, empowering women, or supporting education] in the same villages where our artisans live and work.
